This one-day course is designed for employers, managers, and supervisors who are considering the implementation of a substance abuse prevention program in their organization.

Course Objectives:

• To inform employers, managers, and supervisors how substance abuse affects the construction industry

• To explain the benefits of taking action on substance abuse

• To provide an overview of alcohol and drug abuse amongst working Canadians

• To discuss how alcohol and drugs affect safety

• To provide steps in developing a Substance Abuse Program

• To assist Supervisors in recognizing and dealing effectively with drug and alcohol issues in the workplace
