PRIME CONTRACTOR

This one-day course has been designed for people in the construction industry who want to know about the NWT legislation requirements as it relates to “Prime Contractor” on a multiple employer work site.

Course Objectives:

  • To inform participants of the legislated responsibilities of a “Prime Contractor”

  • To assist in the “how-to” plan, implement, and effectively manage a health and safety system or process when in the role of the “Prime Contractor”

  • To provide a framework to manage a project when designated the “Prime Contractor”

  • Understand the duties of the “Prime Contractor’s site designate”

  • Provincial Legislation

  • Prime Contractor Requirements and Obligations

  • Establishing a system or process to manage health and safety on the worksite

  • Consideration of system requirements
